We, at Greenworldinvestor, have always tried and highlighted the progress solar power is making on social spheres of life. Solar energy has helped the less privileged by providing clean water, light, heat, power, etc. at nominal prices. It has also entered healthcare by powering the hospitals and critical equipment 24*7 without fail. Solar is also being used to separate the oxygen from the air in remote locations. They have also been used to recharge the pacemakers in a patient’s heart.
SELCO, which has made a mark in using clean technologies such as solar energy to promote the welfare of society, has yet again stepped up the solar contribution in the field of healthcare. The company has launched mobile solar-powered testing labs for COVID-19. It created COVID-19 Walk-in Sample Kiosk (WISK) which is a mobile cubicle with a sealed glass front and has extended gloves attached in the front, through which a medical practitioner standing in the cubicle can collect samples. Even a swab can be collected without direct exposure and contact. After the swab collection, the gloves can be sanitized from the outside. These kiosks are powered by solar energy. A 75-watt unit atop the mobile swab collection van can provide a power supply for two fans, a mobile charging unit, and a torchlight.

These mobile COVID-19 testing vans can be very handy especially in rural areas that lack testing centers. This would save time and energy for both patients and lab technicians as the vehicle can be taken to any remote part, especially in contaminated zones, without much difficulty. They proved to be a blessing for frontline healthcare workers in rural areas. The storage of these samples is also supported by solar power. Here is the Solar System design for testing labs:
