State-wise Solar rankings So far in 2018-19

As per the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India’s total installed capacities (as of July 2018) are given below:

Last year too, about 80% of the installations were done by the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. The top five states by cumulative installed capacity in 2016-17 were Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. In contrast to the large solar power projects, rooftop solar still remains a laggard. Here is the total rooftop installed capacity by states.
